TIP REPAIR

Tip repair is not tip replacement.  We can not replace a broken tip, but what we can do is create a new tip on the blade. This is accomplished by slightly reshaping the blade to create a new tip.

The picture on the right is a chef knife which we purposefully broke off the tip. Knives with broken tips as bad as this are not very common, but small breaks are fairly common.

This is the same knife after re shaping the blade and sharpening. The blade length is about ¼ in shorter then originally"

Major Tip Repair

If a major repair is needed, you will need to request it in your order or no repair will be made.

How to tell if you have a major repair

Using a dime, hold the edge of the dime against the broken point. If the broken point is larger than the thickness of the dime, it is a major tip repair.
